For our customers, this milestone goes beyond compliance - it directly strengthens procurement recognition and contributes significantly to B-BBEE scorecard performance.

Previously, procurement from Rubicon could only unlock 5 of 29 points. Today, thanks to our Level 2 contributor status and majority Black ownership, your spend with us can contribute towards 16 of 27 available points.

What this means for our customers

Enhanced procurement recognition
As a Level 2 B-BBEE contributor, every R1.00 spent with Rubicon is recognised as R1.25 for preferential procurement scorecard purposes.

Additional recognition for Black ownership
Because Rubicon is ≥51% Black-owned, your spend qualifies for an additional 1.2× recognition factor under the Preferential Procurement provisions of the Amended Codes of Good Practice.

Example: R1.00 spend × 1.2 (Black Ownership recognition) × 1.25 (Level 2 recognition) = R1.50 recognised for scorecard purposes.

Direct points advantage
Procurement from Rubicon now contributes significantly to preferential procurement points on your scorecard:

Procurement from B-BBEE-compliant suppliers: 5 points
Procurement from ≥51% Black-owned suppliers: 11 points
Total contribution: 16 points

(Points allocations are based on the Generic Scorecard thresholds in the B-BBEE Codes and may differ for QSEs, EMEs, and certain sector charters.)

A company that is not ≥51% Black-owned will generally only contribute towards the standard 5 points for B-BBEE-compliant procurement, whereas procurement from Rubicon can contribute up to 16 points.
