The promoter and sole organiser is Western Cape Rubicon Electrical Pty (Ltd), registration number REG no: 2016/461057/07(“Rubicon”).
The competition opens on 19 October 2026 at 00h01 and closes on 19 November 2026 at 23:59, South African Standard Time (SAST). An entry must be published and meet all posting requirements within that period. Posts outside the period do not qualify. The installation may have been completed before the competition opens.
The competition is open to installers and EPC businesses operating in South Africa, including sole proprietors, for completed PV installations in South Africa. An authorised representative aged 18 or older must submit the entry on behalf of the business and identify that business in the post. The business is the entrant and prize recipient.
Directors, members, partners, employees, agents and consultants of the promoter or its controlling or controlled entities, competition service providers, and their spouses, life partners, business partners and immediate family may not enter or receive the prize. Any other person prohibited by applicable law is also excluded.
Rubicon charges no entry fee. No new purchase or sample request is required. Entrants bear their normal internet or data costs. The submitted installation must already contain qualifying Stäubli Original MC4 connections using connectors purchased from Rubicon by the entrant. There is no restriction on when those connectors where purchased.
During the competition period, publish a public feed post on LinkedIn, Facebook or Instagram that:
The installation must use Stäubli-approved connector products and follow the applicable Stäubli installation requirements. Keep the post public and accessible until verification closes on 30 November 2026. Stories, private posts and direct messages do not qualify as entries. A supporting close-up or additional photographs may be included in the same post. Missing the required Rubicon tag or either required hashtag makes an entry invalid.
Each genuinely different completed PV installation may qualify once across all platforms. Entrants may submit multiple unique installations. Additional photographs, reposts, separate accounts or posts on different platforms do not create additional entries for the same installation. Project partners must agree which business will enter their shared installation. Rubicon will count the earliest otherwise valid entry for a duplicate installation, subject to verification of authority to enter.
Rubicon will review entries before admitting them to the draw. Rubicon will check that the connectors are Stäubli Original MC4 products purchased from Rubicon by the entrant, that the installation appears to meet the published product and installation criteria, and that all entry mechanics are complete.
Entrants may be asked for further photographs, product references, supply records, installation information or confirmation of their role in the project. Rubicon reserves the right to request the entrant’s Rubicon invoice or invoice number as evidence that the Stäubli connectors shown in the entry were purchased from Rubicon. Rubicon may request this evidence during entry verification or before confirming the selected entrant as the winner, regardless of when the connectors were purchased. Submit requested evidence privately via email by the deadline specified in Rubicon’s request. Evidence may clarify an on-time entry; it cannot replace missing tags, hashtags or an absent qualifying post after the competition closes.
Entries that cannot be verified, contain counterfeit products, show third-party connectors mated to Stäubli connectors, fail the published requirements or contain materially false information will not qualify. Rubicon will record the reason for rejection. Verification enquiries may be sent to hello@rubiconsa.com
This is an evidence review for competition eligibility. It is not an electrical inspection, certificate of compliance, warranty or endorsement of the entire installation. Entrants remain responsible for the installation and applicable legal and technical requirements.
Entrants must own their photographs or have permission to use them, and must have the site owner’s permission to publish the installation. Obtain permission from identifiable people and protect confidential client and site information. Do not misrepresent another installer’s work as your own or alter photographs to conceal installation defects or misrepresent products.
Take photographs only from a safe, authorised position. Do not disturb, expose or disconnect electrical equipment to obtain an entry photograph. Never disconnect PV connectors under load.
All verified qualifying entries will enter a random draw. Each qualifying entry has one equal chance in that draw. There is one winner. Confirmation of the winner is subject to satisfactory completion of any further verification requested under clause 7, including proof of purchase from Rubicon. Likes, shares, follower counts, project size and photographic styling do not influence selection.
An independent accountant, registered auditor, attorney or advocate will oversee and certify the competition process as required by applicable law. Rubicon will retain the competition and draw records for the legally required period.
The prize is one Stäubli premium toolbox, model MC4 and MC4‑Evo 2 tool case (IEC), valued at R13,000. The prize is awarded to the entrant business identified in the verified entry. It may not be exchanged for cash. No payment or purchase is required to receive it.
Rubicon will contact the selected entrant through the account used to enter and any contact details supplied during verification, within 14 days of the draw. The representative will be asked to confirm acceptance and fulfilment details within 7 days
Rubicon will make at least three documented contact attempts over ten business days. If the entrant declines the prize, cannot be reached or fails to provide satisfactory evidence requested under clause 7 by the specified deadline, Rubicon will refer the outcome to the independent overseer and apply the published rules and applicable law. Any lawful redraw will use the remaining verified entries and the same random selection process. Rubicon will not impose new eligibility conditions after the draw.
Rubicon will publish the competition outcome on its social channels after the lucky draw has been concluded and the winner has been notified. Promotional use of the winner’s name, image or testimonial is voluntary and will be agreed separately.
Rubicon will process entry information to administer the competition, verify eligibility, contact the winner, fulfil the prize and meet record-keeping obligations. Information needed for verification may be shared with service providers supporting competition administration, oversight and prize fulfilment, as described in https://www.rubicon.tech/policies/privacy-policy
That notice identifies the responsible parties, information collected, purposes, recipients, any international transfers, retention arrangements, and rights of access, correction and objection.
Entrants retain rights in their photographs. Entry does not grant permission for unrestricted advertising use. Rubicon will obtain separate permission before reusing an entry image in promotional material.
This competition is not sponsored, endorsed, administered by or associated with LinkedIn, Facebook or Instagram. Entrants provide their competition information to Rubicon and the parties identified in its privacy notice. To the extent permitted by law, entrants release those platforms from claims arising from the administration of this competition. Do not tag people or accounts inaccurately.
Rubicon will apply the published criteria consistently. Nothing in these rules removes rights or remedies under South African law or excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. Questions or disputes may be submitted to hello@rubiconsa.com.
